Sounds Good Studios

Podcast production and development

01 THE WORK

Most podcast studios are run by audio engineers. We're run by people who've spent their careers deciding what gets commissioned, what gets made, and why.

That means the most valuable conversation happens before anyone reaches for a microphone — clarifying what the show actually is, who it is for, and where it can go.

CH 1 Production

We record in broadcast-quality audio, or for visual podcasts, 4K multi-camera video. Take the raw multitrack files to edit yourself, or let us handle the entire pipeline — editing, mixing, and publishing to Spotify, Apple, YouTube, and beyond.

CH 2 Flexibility

We book the right space for each specific project rather than forcing every show into a single room, and we can record remotely, wherever you and your guests are. We’re also currently designing our own studio facility on the M40 corridor near Thame, with easy access from London, Oxford, and Birmingham.

If you're at the idea stage, that's the best time to talk to us.

02 WHO WE ARE

Between us to name a few

Ben Freeman

Creative Director

Ben acts as Head of IP Development for podcasting and radio at Aurra Studios, where he executive produces original series. His work as exec on Later Dater won Gold at the British Podcast Awards, one of his shows has been optioned for television by a major indie, and others are in consideration at BBC Radio 4 and the BBC World Service.

Before audio he spent two decades in broadcast — Head of Digital at Banijay UK, senior video producer at Warner Bros. on the Wizarding World franchise, and a senior commissioner at ITV across Coronation Street, Emmerdale and A Touch of Frost. He began at Sky, where he won two BAFTAs and is named on the Sky+ patent.

Tim Leavy

Technical Director

Tim leads technical infrastructure at Sounds Good Studios, with thirty years of post-production experience from hands-on edit support through to senior tech leadership, most recently serving as Technical Architect at VCCP's Girl & Bear—where he designed key facility infrastructure for their 2025 move and built a global cloud editing platform for their international offices. Continually expanding his software toolkit, he is also an iOS developer, having recently built and launched two apps.

Before that he was technical support within Formula One's broadcast operation with 500 million annual viewers. Over his career, he has run technical operations at post facilities in London, Brighton, and Sydney across Avid, Adobe Premiere, Pro Tools, and Fairlight suites.
